Machine Specifications and Operator Maintenance
Wheel bolts must be installed and maintained at the proper torque to prevent
loose wheels, a broken bolt, and possible separation of wheel from the axle.
Tighten the wheel bolts to the proper torque to prevent wheels from coming loose. Use
a torque wrench to tighten the bolts. The proper procedure for attaching wheels is as
follows:
Tighten the mounting bolts to the proper torque to prevent wheels from coming loose.
Use a torque wrench to tighten.
1. Install wheel (1) onto hub (2).
2. Start mounting bolts (3) by hand to prevent cross threading. DO NOT use a
lubricant on threads.
3. Tighten bolts in the following sequence:
4. Tighten bolts in stages. Following the recommended sequence, tighten each bolt
per wheel torque of 163 Nm (120 ft.lb.).
1st Stage
20-30 ft lbs (28 - 42 Nm)
5. Wheel mounting bolts should be torqued after the first 50 hours of operation and
after each wheel removal. Check torque every 3 months or 150 hours of operation.
