Chapter 7
WEEKLY CHECKS
POWER STEERINg
Note Driving your vehicle without the proper amount of power steering fluid can result
in system damage requiring costly repair.
Power steering fluid level
The power steering fluid level should be
checked with the ignition switched off.
Check the fluid in the reservoir. The
level should be between the MIN and
MAX marks.
If the fluid is below the MIN mark, you
should add fluid.
To add power steering fluid, do the
following:
1. Switch off the ignition.
2. Wipe the cap and the top of the reservoir clean.
3. Remove the cap.
4. Add only enough fluid to bring the level up to the MAX mark. Do not overfill.
5. Replace the cap tightly.
6. Clean up any spilt fluid.
Refer to Specifications in chapter 8, for power steering fluid specifications.
Note If the power steering fluid reservoir requires constant topping up it could
indicate that a fault exists. Contact your Holden Dealer immediately.
