Chapter 7
WEEKLY CHECKS
As well as taking your vehicle to be serviced (refer to the Servicing/warranty booklet)
there are a few simple, weekly checks the owner (or nominee) is recommended to
make. These are shown on the following pages.
WARNING
The engine cooling fan can start working unexpectedly, even when the engine
is not running. To avoid injury from the fan, ensure the ignition switch is in the
LOCK position, so the fan can not start operating.
Electronic ignition systems have high ignition voltage. Do not touch the ignition
system; this could be highly dangerous.
The following checks should also be regularly done to ensure safety of your vehicle:
All exterior lamps are working and their appropriate interior indicators illuminate.
Mirrors and glass are clean and not scratched.
Aim of water on the windscreen is satisfactory.
Condition of the wipers is satisfactory.
The demister operates.
The horn works.
Condition and operation of all the seat belts. Check if the buckles are clean and
operating correctly. Remember that seat belts must never be worn twisted.
