EMERGENCIES
DIESEL FUEL FILTER WATER DRAININg
When the water level in fuel filter is excessive, the water in fuel filter warning lamp
comes on. When this occurs, immediately drain the water from fuel filter.
WARNING
The engine and fuel system may be seriously damaged if you keep driving while
the warning lamp is illuminated. Drain the fuel filter or contact your Holden Dealer
as soon as possible.
1. Locate the fuel filter in the engine compartment and place a suitable container
under it.
2. Turn the drain plug located in the left
area of the fuel filter anticlockwise
using a flat-blade screwdriver.
3. Wait until the fuel filter is completely
drained of water, then turn the drain
plug clockwise to tighten it.
4. Before starting the engine, perform
the bleeding operation. Refer to Diesel
fuel system bleeding below.
Note The vehicle's fuel filter will be
drained when the vehicle is serviced
as per the Service/warranty booklet.

Perform the bleeding operation:
If the vehicle has run out of fuel.
After draining water from the fuel filter.
Note
A minimum of 10 L of diesel fuel must be in the tank for the bleeding operation
to work correctly.
It is possible to restart the engine if the tank has been run dry. A delayed start is
to be expected.
1. Switch the ignition to the ON position for approximately 5 seconds, then to the
LOCK position.
2. Repeat step 1 five times.
3. Attempt to start the engine for approximately 40 seconds. If the engine does not
start, wait at least 5 minutes and try again.
Note If the engine still does not start, contact your Holden Dealer.
