Description
Recovering the RAID array.
Note: Transfer speeds are slower during
the rebuilding process.
Rewriting drives in the TeraStation with 0s.
Formatting the drive.
Checking the drive.
Rewriting drives in the TeraStation with 0s.
The initialization process has been started
by using the reset button and settings are
being initialized.
Updating the TeraStation firmware.
The initialization process has been started
by using Settings and all settings are being
initialized.
Checking the USB drive.
Formatting the USB drive.
Appears before the function button is
pressed in order to use a newly-inserted
drive.
Appears after replacing the drive when the
RAID array needs to be rebuilt in Settings
or formatting is necessary.
The initialization process has been started
by using the USB initialization drive and

Do not turn off the TeraStation's power.

Press the function button. If the RAID array
enters degraded mode, the array will be
rebuilt using the new drive. Otherwise, the
new drive will be set as a hot spare.
To use a drive as normal instead of a
hot spare drive, refer to the appropriate
"Drive Replacement for Hot Spare" section
in chapter 11 that corresponds to your
TeraStation model.
From Settings, either recover the RAID
array or format the drive.
