Entering Installer Mode
Follow these steps to enter the Installer Mode from a
keypad that is not set up as an Installer Keypad:
1.
Enter the Installer PIN.
The default Installer PIN is 7890000. The PIN
length can be between 3 and 7 digits in length
(default length is 4 digits, which shortens the
default Installer PIN to 7890). To change the
default PIN length, see Section 31.1 PIN Length
on page 72.
2.
Then enter [#] + [4] + [1]. The system then
displays the Installer Menu.
[#] + [4] + [1] accesses different menus
depending on the PIN entered. If the Installer
PIN is entered, this sequence accesses the
Installer Mode. If a User PIN is entered, this
sequence accesses the System Test Menu.
After you enter the Installer PIN and press [#] + [4] +
[1], the panel sends a Service Start report. When you
exit the Installer Mode, it sends a Service End report.

2: Strobe Test
3: Battery Test
4: Test Report
5: Zone Status
6: Output Test

The following sections explain each menu choice.
21.1
Bell Test
To initiate a Bell Test, press the [1] key.
The panel activates the Bell Time (Output Function
Type 1,5) and Alarm Output (Output Function Types
1,8 to 1, 12) functions for three seconds.
For a complete description of output functions, see

21.2
Strobe Test
To initiate a strobe test, press the [2] key.

the panel automatically terminates the strobe test.

Battery Test
To initiate a battery test, press the [3] key.
The battery test causes the system to run on battery
for 4 minutes. If the battery voltage falls below 12.1
volts during the 4-minute test, or if the battery is
missing, the system restores AC power and displays
a system trouble at all keypads.
21.4
Test Report
To send a test report, press the [4] key.
The panel attempts to send a test report. If there is a
system trouble at the time of the test, the panel sends
a "Test, Off Normal" report.
If the test communication is unsuccessful, the panel
creates a system trouble and a communication failure.
21.5
Zone Status
To display zone/sensor loop status for the first
location in the system, press the [5] key.
The location, zone number and electrical status
(Open, Short, Normal, or Fault) are shown. See
Section 35.0 Locations on page 86 for a complete

Press the [*] key to advance to the status for the next
zone. Press the [#] key to exit the Zone Status mode.
