EGR VALVE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner. (See
3. Remove the common rail. (See
4. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
Air pipe

INSTALLATION)
2 EGR pipe
3 EGR water cooler
4 EGR valve
5. Install in the reverse order of removal.

EGR VALVE INSPECTION

Note
• Perform the following test only when directed.
1. Remove the EGR valve. (See
2. Inspect for airflow between 1 and 2 when vacuum
is applied using a vacuum pump as shown in the
figure.
• If not as specified, replace the EGR valve.
