5.11 CHECKING BRAKE SHOE LININGS FOR WEAR

• Find the inspection opening (de-
pending on the axle version, the in-
spection opening may be located
elsewhere than in the place indicated
in the figure; however, it is always lo-
cated on the brake shield disc).
• Remove the upper plug and lower
plug and check the brake shoe lining
thickness.
• Brake shoes must be replaced when
the lining thickness is less than 5 mm.
• Check other brake shoe linings for
wear.
