Disconnecting the FlexSet 40B from the FlexSet Telephone

Turn the FlexSet 280/281-40B onto its back and disconnect the RJ-45 cable from the
D_BUS connector socket of the FlexSet 40B. Disconnect the other end from the
attached FlexSet 280/281 or FlexSet 40B.

Grip the plastic connecting piece between finger and thumb with your finger
towards the outer edge. Your thumb should be positioned over the words
PRESS TO RELEASE.

Apply pressure with your thumb to the plastic connecting piece until the forward
end loses contact with the FlexSet 280/281-40B.

Gently slide the plastic connecting piece away from the FlexSet 280/281-40B. The
connecting pieces are delicate; do not use excessive force.
Turn the FlexSet 280/281 (and any FlexSet 40Bs that remain) back over so that it is

seated properly.

If the FlexSet 40B is not replaced, you may wish to reprogram the database in
order to free up system resources that the FlexSet 40B was using. See Database
Programming on page 7-15.
External Power Supply (Mandatory)
The FlexSet 40B requires that external power be supplied at all times.
If using a single unit power supply, insert the TPS plug into the jack marked "DC" on
the rear of the FlexSet 280/281 base. See External Power Supply on page page 8-1 for more
information.
