Removing
the Protective Tab

Thread the line cord through one of the grooves running along the underside of
the telephone, according to preference. This enables the rear panel to remain clean
and uncluttered. Turn the telephone right-side up.

Place the free end of the telephone line cord into the wall socket.
The connector will fit properly in one direction only. If the connector does not fit
into the socket easily, turn it over and retry.
After a brief pause the keyset will activate.

Handset and Twisted Cord

The handset cord comes with the same connector type on both ends.
1.
Fully depress the cradle rubber pad and remove the protective tab. Discard the tab
in accordance with local regulations.
The purpose of the tab is to avoid continuous pressure on the cradle rubber pad in
the off-hook position during shipping and while packaged in boxes.

Turn the telephone onto its back. Take one end of the handset cord and place it
into the handset socket located on the underside of the telephone body. (The
socket is marked with a picture of a handset). See Figure 1-3 and Figure 1-4.
The connector will fit properly in one direction only. If the connector does not fit
into the socket easily, turn it over and retry.
3.
Thread the handset cord through the groove running to the right of the handset
socket.

Place the free end of the cord into the socket located at the bottom of the handset.
