the PEX/APA module (Figure 6-1).
Removing the PEX/APA Module
To remove the PEX/APA module from the FlexSet 280/281, reverse the above process.
External Power Supply
An external power supply (provided separately) is needed if the standard line distance
is exceeded, or if a FlexSet 40B is attached.
If using a single unit power supply, insert the TPS plug into the jack marked "DC" on
the rear of the PEX/APA module. See External Power Supply on page 8-1 for more
information.
Handset and Additional (listen only) Handset
The PEX/APA module adds an additional handset jack to the one located on the
bottom of the FlexSet. The additional jack located at the bottom of the PEX/APA
module labeled #2 and displayed with a handset icon, as displayed on the first handset
jack on the FlexSet.
Attach the handset connector to the telephone jack located on the bottom of the FlexSet
(see figure Figure 6-6). This is the normal handset connector and allows the user to
speak and to listen. The jack labeled #2 enables an additional user to listen or record
(monitor) conversations, it cannot be used for speaking.
