Coral Terminal Equipment
The APA (Application Processor Adapter) is an optional module connected to the base
of a FlexAPDL and FlexSet 280S.
It is used to provide data transfer in Computer-Telephony Integration (CTI)
applications such as the TAPIdriver, FlexCT Call Center, FlexCT PathFinder,
Computerized Attendant Position (CAP), ACD Group Supervisor and Management
position, and the FlexCT CallMaster (CCM).
The APA provides a proprietary link to an external Applications Processor. The link
uses an asynchronous RS-232E serial data interface, operating at a data rate of up to
19,200 bps. The interface appears at a RJ-45 jack connector on the rear panel of the
APA, wired as data communications equipment (DCE).
When the FlexSet 280S or FlexAPDL terminal is within the normal loop limit, no
external power is required to operate the APA's proprietary AP link. An external
power source is required if the FlexSet 280S station is not within the normal loop limit,
or if the FlexSet 40B is attached to the FlexSet 280S, in which case the PEX/APA-FS
module with external power will be needed (see page 6-1).

Preparing for Installation

Inspect for Damage

1. Inspect the shipping carton for evidence of physical damage or mishandling prior
to opening.
2. Inspect all parts for damage.
3. Report any damage to the carrier immediately.
4. If it is necessary to make a damage claim to the carrier, don't move the shipping
carton until it has been examined by the carrier's representative.
Once the module is fully assembled, it is no longer necessary to keep the empty
carton(s). Dispose of it in accord with local regulations.
