Engine oil consumption
In order
to provide effective lubrication
and
cooling
of
internal engine
components,
all
internal combustion
engines
use
a
certain
amount
of
oil. Oil
consumption
varies
from
engine
t
o
engine and may
change
signifi-
cantly over the
life of
the
engine.
Typica
lly,
engines w

have a
break-in
period use
more
oil
during
the
break-in
period
than
t
hey
do
w
hen oil
consumption has stabilized af-
ter
the
break-in
period.
