portion
indicates
the
oil
quality
by
API
designations.

Note
Look
for
one
of these symbols
on
the
front
of
the
oil container,
and
use
only oils
that display these

Engine oil consumption
In order
to provide effective lubrication
and
cooling
of
internal engine
components,
all
internal combustion
engines
use
a
certain
amount
of
oil. Oil
consumption
varies
from
engine
t
o
engine and may
change
signifi-
cantly over the
life of
the
engine.
Typica
lly,
engines w
hich
have a
break-in
period use
more
oil
during
the
break-in
period
than
t
hey
do
w
hen oil
consumption has stabilized af-
ter
the
break-in
period.

recommends

you
use

type
