If you have locked your vehicle you
can
st
ill unlock each door from the
inside
individually:
Pull the front
door handle once and the rear door
handle twice to open the door.

WARNING
• If you use the power locking
switch, remember that all the ve-
hicle doors will lock.
Locking doors from the inside can
help
prevent
inadvertent
door
opening during an accident and
can also prevent unwanted entry
from the
outside.
Locked doors
can, however, delay assistance to
vehicle
occupants
and
rescue
from the outside in an accident or
other emergency.
Do not leave children inside the
vehicle
unsupervised.
If the lock-
ing knobs of all doors are de-
pressed, the vehicle will be locked.
In an emergency it would be
im-
possible to open the doors from
the outside without the
key.
CONTROLS AND
EQUIPMENT
Automatic locking at vehicle
speed higher than 10 mph
(15 km/h)
The power
locking system can be pro-
grammed
by your authorized VOLKS-
WAG
EN
dealer
so that
all
the doors and the
rear lid on your vehicle
lock
automatically
when the
vehicle
is
moving
faster
than 1
0
mph
(15
km/h).
If
this
feature
is
activated, the
vehicle wi
ll
automatica
lly
unlock
w
hen
you remove the
key
f
rom
the ignition
lock.
~WARNING
Do not remove the key from the
steering lock while you are driv-
ing or as the vehicle is rolling to a
stop.
The steering column will lock
up,
and you will not able to steer the
vehicle.
Of course you can always open the
vehicle using the power locking
switch or by pulling the front door
handle once and the rear door han-
dle twice.
