The user is solely responsible for the
correctness and appropriateness of the
actuation data and test specifications
input by the user in the case of other
makes of component (components from
manufacturers other than Robert Bosch
GmbH). It is also the responsibility of the
user to ensure the proper testing of non-
Bosch components.

Robert Bosch GmbH will not accept
any warranty or liability for damage,
expenditure and other consequences
arising from the incorrect and/or
inappropriate input of actuation data and
test specifications and/or the inexpert
testing of non-Bosch components by the
user.
¶
The default actuation parameters for
other makes of component (components
from manufacturers other than Robert
Bosch GmbH) are based on in-house
analyses, as Robert Bosch GmbH did not
have any information about these from the
manufacturer. Consequently they neither
correspond to the factory specifications
of, nor have they been coordinated with,
the manufacturer concerned. Robert
Bosch GmbH can therefore not accept
any warranty for the correctness of the
default actuation parameters for non-
Bosch components.

It is the responsibility of the user to
ensure the proper testing of non-Bosch
components. Robert Bosch GmbH will
also not accept any liability for damage,
expenditure and other consequences
arising from the incorrect default setting
of actuation parameters.
3.2 Important information on correct
usage
R
Gasoline injections cannot be tested with the
EPS 205.
R
Non leak-off DHK or CRI with two solenoid valves
cannot be tested with the EPS 205. Non leak-off
DHK can be identified from the absence of a fuel
return connection.
R
The high-pressure hose is only to be used under
the guard when testing DHK/UI, CRI, CRIN and CRI
Piezo.
R
Hoses and adapter cables are not to be extended or
altered.
R
The guard contact is not to be jumpered.
R
Exclusive use is to be made of genuine spare parts.

Prerequisites

3.3.1 Hardware
R
The workbench for the EPS 205 must have a
loadbearing capacity of >160 kg and a solid, torsion-
resistant, firm working surface. Use a spirit level to
make sure the working surface is horizontal.
R
To ensure adequate ventilation for the EPS 205, the
gap between the back of the unit and the wall must
be at least 30 centimeters. To prevent overheating,
it must be ensured that the vent grilles on the back
and underside of the EPS 205 are not closed off.
R
Never expose the EPS 205 to direct sunlight. There
should also not be any other sources of heat (for
example radiators) in the immediate vicinity of the
unit.

Compressed air connection with service unit for the
supply of dry, filtered, clean and oil-free compressed
air as per ISO 8573-1 with a pressure of between
0.5 MPa and 0.8 MPa.

The EPS 205 is only to be operated with test oil as
per ISO 4113.

Never fill the EPS 205 with diesel fuel.

The test oil in the tank must not drop below the oil
level indicator mark.

The EPS 205 must be placed in the oil collector
provided. The oil collector should have a minimum
size of 30 x 570 x 720 mm (H x W x D). The
maximum height of the oil collector is 35 mm.

The EPS 205 is only to be connected to a grounded,
symmetrical three-phase AC network set to the local
voltage ±10% and with a frequency of 50/60 Hz.

We recommend using an external extractor with oil
mist separator for the spray pattern test.
i
Injectors with a coil resistance of up to 3 ohms can
be tested.
i
It is only permissible to connect printers approved
by Bosch.
3.3.2 Training
The EPS 205 is only to be operated by specialist
personnel instructed and trained to perform diesel
testing. We recommend a user training course*
testing and repair of common rail injectors (CRI/CRIN)
and piezo common rail injectors (CRI Piezo).
