Pocket Beep function
This function uses subaudible tones for calling and can be used as a "common pager" to let you know
that someone has called when you are away from the transceiver
DWaiting for a call from a specific station
1 Set the operating frequency
2 Push [SET LOCK] to enter the Set mode
3 Set the Tone Squelch frequency, DTCS code, or
DTCS polarity

4 Push any key other than [SET LOCK] or
[MONI ANM PA] to save and exit the Set mode
5 Repeatedly push [TONE T-SCAN] to until
" " and " " or " " and " " are displayed
• " " and " ": The CTCSS Pocket Beep function
• " " and " ": The DTCS Pocket Beep function
6 Operate normally
L To turn OFF the function, repeatedly push
[TONE T-SCAN] to until the tone icon disappears
7 When a signal with a matching tone or code is
received, the beep tones sound and " " blinks
L The beeps sound for 30 seconds
To stop the beeps and the tone icon blinking, push
any key
L When the beep tones are not manually stopped, " "
continues blinking until any key is pushed
L After any key is pushed, " " disappears and the
function is turned OFF
8 Push [PTT] to answer
Example: Setting the Tone Squelch frequency
and turning ON the CTCSS Pocket Beep
function.
