A thread tension change may be needed if the thread and fabric change. The thread tension influences
the appearance of the buttonhole. It is necessary to use quality threads with little elasticity. Check to
be certain all parts that the thread passes through are smooth and polished with no burrs or sharp
edges.
Recomended thread tension:
When using lower quality thread it is necessary to exchange the spring with the spare one, which is in the
drawer of the machine.
20.1. By turning the tension knob – clockwise, the top thread tension increases, anti-clockwise
decreases.
20.2. By turning the tension knob — clockwise, the bottom thread tension increases, anti-clockwise
decreases. After loosening the screw ›, it is possible to adjust the preloading of the take-up
spring  by turning the lever œ.
20.3. Increase the stud pressure ™ by loosening the screw ˜ and moving the bracket š. The ends of
the threads will be extended during the trimming.
20.4. Thread tension size is possible to adjust after loosing the screw  moving thread guide œ up
(increasing) or down (reducing).
