Maintaining Your Xerox Nuvera
Note
Automatic Image Permanence (AIP) depends on how the user programs media characteristics into
the stock library or into each feed tray. For optimal performance from your Xerox Nuvera system, it
is important to program the media correctly. If you do not select either the EIP or AIP check box, the
Xerox Nuvera system runs in a standard, nominal mode. Nominal mode runs at a mid-level fusing
temperature that is satisfactory for most media.
• Reduce Up-Curl for 2-Sided Jobs - For the EA Production System. Enable this feature when there is
excessive up curl in the output stacks. The system prints side 2 first, then side 1, to avoid the sheet
being inverted after the second image. This action causes down curl instead of up curl on the output.
Note that this selection does not apply to jobs programmed with ordered stock and 3-hole punch
stock. If you select this feature for ordered stock or 3-hole punch stock, the system ignores the Reduce
Up-Curl feature and prints side 1 first.
• Cycle Up Purge Enabled - Not available to the user. This feature is used only by a Xerox Service
representative.
• Feed Until Empty Algorithm - When enabled, the system empties stock from the secondary feed
tray in use before switching back to the primary tray.
• Crash Recovery: Last Sheet Delivered Not Known - This feature applies to job recovery situations.
The system does not use this feature for jam recovery or jam faults.
- If the system crashes while printing a large job and you restart the print server and the system,
the system attempts to perform a job recovery. If the system knows the last sheet delivered to
the finisher, the settings for this feature are not required, and the job is recovered automatically.
- If the system crash renders the finisher unable to detect the last sheet to perform a job recovery,
use this feature. To indicate the type of job recovery, select either Use Best Guess, the default,
or select Do Not Recover Job.
- If the last sheet delivered is not known, and you want the system to attempt to recover the job,
select Use Best Guess. The system displays messages to check the output for duplicate pages
or missing sheets.
- If you want to recover the job, perform paper clearance, then resubmit the job manually. Select
Do Not Recover Job. The job remains unrecoverable in the inactive queue.
Note
After a system restart due to a power outage or tripped breaker, kernel panic, or power cycle using
the white button, the job does not recover correctly. Select Job Properties. Set the Pages to Print
values to the range of pages remaining to print.
• Enable Tab Leading Sheets in IOT - Only available on the 200/288/314 systems. This feature is
accessible by a trained customer operator or a Xerox Service representative only. To ensure that jobs
containing precut tabs are oriented correctly in Tabs Optimization Mode, and run optimally with the
print rate maximized, select this feature. If Print Engine A2 is unable to process precut tabs without
damaging them, deselect this feature.
• Recovery Offset Enabled - For systems with either a Multifunction Finisher or Basic Finishing Module
only. Following a paper jam, the first recovered sheet is delivered to the finisher and is offset from
the rest of the unfinished set. This action applies to unfinished sets only and not stapled sets. It is
intended to help the operator examine the set for completeness. Only the first sheet after recovery
is offset.
