Removing DIMMs

Use the following steps to remove a DIMM from a cache module:
1. Remove the cache module using steps in either Chapter 3 or Chapter 4.
2. Press down on the DIMM retaining clips 3 at both ends of the DIMM 1 being
removed (see Figure 2–8).
NOTE: To make pressing down on the DIMM retaining clips easier, use the eraser end of a
pencil or a small screwdriver.
3. Gently remove the DIMM from the DIMM slot 2 and place the DIMM in an
antistatic bag or on a grounded antistatic mat.
4. Repeat step 2 and step 3 for each DIMM.
