17.1

Defining loop typology

FROM COMPUTER
Go to SmartLoop System, Control panel x, Loop y, System Programming
Refer to the Installation manual Appendix B and Appendix C for specific information regarding the
cable specifications.
Note:
Once the loop has been configured, any form of tamper to the device (disconnection,
dislodgement, etc.) will generate a fault signal.
17.1.1 Parameters
Max. Devices LED ON
Max. detectors R Output ON
Loop Total Length
Min. Wire gauge requested
Note:
In order to calculate the maximum number of LEDs and R outputs, you must take into account the
maximum load the control panel support and the type of cable used, and secondly the current
consumption of the LEDs and outputs of these devices that may go into alarm status concurrently.
If the number of devices that go into alarm status contemporarily exceeds the set number, the
control panel will activate the LEDs and outputs of the maximum number of devices allowed,
starting from the device with the lowest address. The devices that exceed the set limit will be
bypassed (these devices will go into alarm status but their LEDs and outputs will not be
activated).

Programming the loops
Maximum number of devices that in the event of Alarm can activate
their respective LEDs contemporarily.
Maximum number of devices that in the event of Alarm can activate
their respective outputs at the same time.
This is the maximum wire length allowed between the Loop-O
terminals and the most distant device.
This is the minimum wire gauge required in accordance with the Loop
wire length and load (number of connected devices). Check this value
AFTER configuring the loop.
