Before removing the hinge cover, follow these steps:
Shut down the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the

Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer.

Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and

then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer.

Remove the four Phillips PM3.0×8.0 screws (3) that secure the hinge cover to the computer.

Remove the hinge cover (4) by pulling it away from the computer.

Reverse this procedure to install the hinge cover.
