Creating recovery discs After setting up the computer for the first time, be sure to create a set of recovery discs of the full factory image. Create a system restore point Select Start > Control Panel > System and Maintenance > System. In the left pane, click System protection. Click the System Protection tab. Under Automatic restore points, select the disk for which you want to create a restore point. Click Create.
Performing a recovery NOTE: You can only recover files that you have previously backed up. HP recommends that you use Recovery Manager to create an entire drive backup as soon as you set up your computer. Recovery Manager software allows you to repair or restore the system if you experience system failure or instability.
