Remove the processor and heat sink module

☐ 3 Remove the bezel.
☐ 4 Disconnect the power cords and I/O
cables.
☐ 5 Extend the system from the cabinet.
☐ 6 Remove the system cover.
☐ 7 Remove the processor and heat sink
module.
☐ 8 Remove the processor from the
processor and heat sink module.
☐ 9 Install the processor into the processor
and heat sink module.
☐ 10 Install the processor into the processor
and heat sink module.
☐ 11 Install the system cover.
☐ 12 Slide the system into the cabinet.
☐ 13 Connect the cable cords.
☐ 14 Install the front bezel.
Perform mandatory software tasks to return the node to operation:
☐ 15 Return the node to operation.
Before you begin
WARNING
The heat sink may be hot to touch for some time after the system is powered
down. Allow the heat sink to cool before removing it.
CAUTION
To prevent damage to the processor socket when replacing a faulty system
board, ensure that you cover the processor socket with the processor dust cover.
