the riser, or the expansion card from the
faulty expansion card riser.
☐ 10 Install the replacement expansion card in
the riser or the expansion card in the
replacement expansion card riser.
☐ 11 Install the replacement expansion card
riser or the riser containing the
replacement expansion card.
☐ 12 Install the air shroud.
☐ 13 Install the system cover.
☐ 14 Slide the system into the cabinet.
☐ 15 Connect the I/O cables and power cords. See
☐ 16 Install the bezel.
Perform mandatory software tasks to return the node to operation:
☐ 17 Return the node to operation.
An expansion card is an add-on card that can be installed into an expansion slot on the
system board or a slot on a riser to add enhanced functionality to the system through
the expansion bus.
Note
A System Event Log (SEL) event is logged if an expansion card riser is not supported
or missing. It does not prevent your system from turning on. However, if a F1/F2
pause occurs, an error message is displayed.
