SA-100 Planning, Installation and Administration Guide
To connect the Ethernet ports, do the following:
NOTE For guaranteed voice quality, we recommend that you connect all ShoreTel
components to an isolated LAN segment.
NOTE If you are planning to use both Ethernet ports and DHCP, turn the power on
to the unit and let the network assign an IP address to the first port before
you connect the second Ethernet port. This will ensure that the port you
want the SA-100 to use primarily for operation will be correctly identified
by the system.

Connecting the Bezel

A locking front bezel and key are included with the SA-100. The bezel contains a
power button and fits over the front panel blocking access to all items installed in
the panel. Refer to the Quick Install Guide shipped with the unit for instruction
about installing and locking the bezel.

Configuring the Unit for Operation

After you have mounted the SA-100 in a rack and connected it to the network, you
must configure the ShoreTel system to use the unit. ShoreWare Director is used to
configure the ShoreTel system to use the SA-100. The following chapter,
the
SA-100, describes how to configure the system in ShoreWare Director to use the
SA-100. For information about using ShoreWare Director, refer to the ShoreTel 12:
System Administration Guide.
Configuring the system to use the SA-100 also requires IP address information for the
unit. You can use a terminal emulator session to obtain this information from the SA-
100. See
