just bought a used 08 B King and it will not start in neutral alone. you have to pull in the clutch lever and then it will start. I know thats not right. also on cold starts it acts like the choke is not activated. once it warms up it runs great

The 2008 Suzuki GSX1300BK B King requires the clutch lever to be pulled in to start in neutral due to its interlock switches for the ignition and starter circuits. The engine can only be started if the transmission is in neutral and the clutch is disengaged, or if the transmission is in gear, the side stand is fully up, and the clutch is disengaged. This safety feature prevents accidental movement when starting.
Cold start issues occur because the engine requires proper fuel-air mixture and sufficient warmth to ignite efficiently. When the engine is cold, it may need additional throttle input (about 1/8 turn) to start. Letting the engine warm up after starting ensures smooth operation.

Immobilizer identification code is pro- grammed into the key. Therefore, a key made by an ordinary locksmith will not work. Ask Suzuki dealer if you need to make a spare key. • If you loose the key, ask your Suzuki dealer to have the lost one deactivated.
“LOCK” POSITION To lock the steering, turn the handlebar all the way to the left. Push down and turn the key to the “LOCK” position and remove the key. All electrical circuits are cut off. “ON” POSITION The ignition circuit is completed and the engine can now be started.

“P” (Parking) POSITION When parking the motorcycle, lock the steering and turn the key to the “P” position. The key can now be removed and the posi- tion light and taillight will remain lit and the steering will be locked. This position is for night time roadside parking to increase visi- bility.

FRONT BRAKE LEVER 2 RIGHT HANDLEBAR The front brake is applied by squeezing the brake lever gently toward the throttle grip. just bought a used 08 B King and it will not start in neutral alone. you have to pull in the clutch lever and then it will start. I know thats not right. also on cold starts it acts like the choke is not activated. once it warms up it runs great
