MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS

Before each use
Carry out a visual inspection of the entire lifting magnet.
Clean the pole shoes and the surface of the load thoroughly and use a file to remove any burrs, weld spatter
and raised areas if necessary.
Check the function of the control buttons on the display panel and the remote control.
Do not use the magnet if any defects are found.
Weekly
Check the entire magnet, including the lifting eye, locking block and bolts, for deformation, cracks and other
defects. If the lifting eye is deformed or if the diameter is worn by more than 10 %, replace the lifting eye.
Check that the type plate and instruction labels are in place and legible.
Check the pole shoes. If more than 10 % of their surface is damaged (holes, notches, etc.), than the pole shoes
have to be re-polished by the supplier or by an authorised workshop.
The lifting capacity has to be checked after machining.
Annually
Have the rated holding force of the lifting magnet checked at least once a year by the manufacturer or by an
authorised supplier as per DIN EN 13155:2009. Observe the accident prevention regulations!

Hazard from malfunction!
Incorrect assembly or poor maintenance of the lifting magnet can cause a
malfunction of the magnet.
Loads can fall down and cause serious injuries and even death.
Have maintenance work carried out only by qualified personnel.
The lifting magnet has to be set down securely or attached to the load.
Check after maintenance and installation!
Risk of crushing!
There is a risk of limbs being crushed by the lifting magnets tipping over or
falling due to incorrect installation and removal of the magnets.
Secure the lifting magnets against falling or tipping over.
To lift the lifting magnets, always use safety hooks that are designed for
the weight of the lifting magnets, so that the lifting eye cannot slip from
the hook.
Have maintenance work carried out only by qualified personnel.
