Expanded functions of the battery-powered lifting magnet

The battery-powered lifting magnet is equipped with the extended functions VARIABLE FORCE and TIP-OFF. The
functions are available only if the battery-powered lifting magnet is operated with a remote control.
7.3.1

VARIABLE FORCE function

Function description
The function lowers the magnetic power of the lifting magnet before load handling starts. When handling starts
(disconnecting of the safety contact), the magnetic power is automatically increased to 100 % after 5 s to ensure
the appropriate magnetic force. The acoustic and visual warning signals alert operating personnel to the activated
function.
Suitable for
Handling thin loads for which the full power is required, depending on the type of the battery-powered lifting
magnet (see lifting force table, section 7.1). At full magnetic power, the magnetic field can act through the load and
therefore lift the material underneath as well (e.g. that table of a machine tool).
Application examples
Handling a metal sheet from the stack
Removing a thin sheet from a metal surface (work table, metal pallet/box, machine table, etc.)
Check safe handling: If there are any doubts about the material, the surface, etc., this function can be used to
temporarily lower the power. You can then try again to lift the load.
Activate the VARIABLE FORCE function.
Adjusting/lowering the magnetic power of the lifting magnet
The magnetic power of the lifting magnet can be set in the range from 0 to 99 (this is not a percentage value).
A higher value for the magnetic power can be set by simultaneously pressing the SET and LIFT buttons on the
remote control.
A lower value for the magnetic power can be set by simultaneously pressing the SET and RELEASE buttons on
the remote control.
Switching on the magnet with reduced magnetic power
After setting the required value for the magnetic power, activate the VARIABLE FORCE function by pressing the
LIFT or RELEASE buttons on the remote control simultaneously.
NOTE!
The function can be activated from the remote control if magnetising is
switched off and the magnet is resting on the load (safety switch on).
Briefly press the yellow SET button on the remote control to display the set
intensity of magnetic power on the remote control. The last set value for the
intensity of the magnetic power remains set in the memory of the remote
control.
NOTE!
A fast change in the magnetic power of the lifting magnet can be achieved
by a long press of the LIFT or RELEASE buttons.
