INITIAL POWER ON
3.1 Overview
The MPA Hub Mount is normally operated in the REMOTE mode
via the serial interface. The remote control device can be an
optional Model VJW-6769V3 CPI Remote Control Unit or an IBM
compatible computer with an RS-232 or RS-422/485 serial port. In
the LOCAL mode, the amplifier is controlled by three push button
switches and its state is monitored by five LEDs.
Once the amplifier has been manually set for REMOTE operation,
all of the amplifier monitor and control functions can be used. This
chapter describes:
• The MPA Hub Mount LOCAL controls and indicators
• The optional Remote Control Unit controls and indicators
• Operation with P.C. computer and remote control software
• Pre-power checks (Section 3.5)
• The procedures for the first time power-up and initial checkout
• The procedures for completion of checkout (Section 3.7)
• Setup for operational service (Section 3.8)
