2.15 Operation in closed spaces

If earth-moving machines are to be used in closed
spaces, these areas must be sufficiently ventilated
and special regulations observed.

2.16 Work stoppages

Before rest periods and at the end of the working day,
the driver of the earth-moving machine must park the
machine on ground which has sufficient carrying
capacity and is as level as possible, and must secure
it against unintended movement.
Before rest periods and at the end of the working day,
the driver must lower the work equipment onto the
ground or secure it so that it cannot move.
The driver is not to leave the earth-moving machine if
the work equipment has not been lowered to the
ground or secured.
Earth-moving machines are only to be parked in
places where they do not present an obstacle to
others, e.g. on the construction site or to plant traffic.
Warning devices, e. g. triangles, warning cordons,
flashing or hazard lights are to be used if necessary.
Before leaving the operator stand, the driver must
bring all operating equipment and controls into home
position, switch off the working hydraulics and apply
the brakes.
If the driver is leaving the earth-moving machine
unattended, he must first turn off the engine and
ensure that it cannot be started up by unauthorized
persons (e. g. removing ignition keys).
