The catheters are connected to the WPU-L4 or Luna module via air-charged
pressure transducers. The transducers must be left in the OPEN position.
It is also important to notice that caps are placed on the catheter
to protect against any moisture infiltration. Moisture penetrating into the
catheter will cause sensing errors, usually high pressures.
The procedure to prepare the catheters and transducers is as follows:
▪ Connect the pressure transducer cables to the WPU module or Luna, as
follows:
Color pressure transducer
Yellow
Blue
Green
▪ Be sure to leave the transducers in the OPEN position.
▪ Disinfect the genital area.
▪ Insert the bladder catheter (in a female patient 12–15 cm, in a male patient
25–30 cm). Position the vesical sensor (P
both in the bladder.
▪ Remove the caps from the bladder catheter. Be sure that no moisture is
getting into the catheter.
▪ Connect the bladder catheter to the yellow (P
applicable to the green (P
sure to connect in the OPEN position.
