Selecting Consumables to Use
During the pre-test, you can choose the consumables that will be used for the
study by selecting them from the drop-down box. Make sure that you select
the consumables with the correct Lot Numbers.
After you have selected the necessary consumables, the Start test button will
be enabled, and you can begin the investigation at any time. Until all
necessary consumables are selected, the Start test button will be disabled. In
this way, the system will always keep track of what consumables are used and
on which patient. When you start a study, the software will remove the
selected consumables from the repository. If the preview is ended by returning
to the main menu, the selected consumables will not be deducted from the
repository.
You can reuse the same consumables on the same patient within a two-hour
period. If another study is performed on the same patient within two hours, the
previously used consumables will be preselected and display the suffix .reuse.
Consumable Expiration
When consumables are within a month of their expiration date, you will be
notified and encouraged to use them before they do expire.
When consumables have reached the expiration date, they will be removed
from the repository and can no longer be used for investigations. This ensures
that only consumables that have not expired are available for use on patients.
Bypasses
For situations in which there are no consumables remaining in the repository
and no consumables to scan, or there is a problem when scanning an RFID
tag, you can select the Bypass option. By selecting this option, traceability will
not be possible for the investigation; however, you can continue to perform the
investigation. If there are no bypasses remaining, contact the LABORIE
service desk for assistance.
