Set the desired switching logic using the
Risk for connected devices/systems
Before using the digital outputs you must clarify the safety-related consequences in the
event of the following malfunctions:
• Power supply failure (e.g. local failure of power supply, inadvertent switch-off, blown
• Electronic fault of digital output
• Interruption in the electric connection
Select the switching logic according to safety aspects:
• In the event of a power supply failure, digital outputs with direct switching logic signal
• In the event of a power supply failure, digital outputs with inverted switching logic signal
Carefully clarify the consequences prior to assignment, and ensure that a dangerous
situation cannot occur in the event of a fault or failure.

Configuring the digital inputs

Menu call: Parameters -> IO -> Digital input (DIn) -> DIn
The following menu is displayed (example):
An internal status or control function can be assigned to each digital input. This "source"
controls the status of the digital input. A unique ID (tag) is assigned to each source. The
electronic switching logic is inverted ('inv' on the screen) or direct (blanks).
