Method Guidelines for Configuration

There are three commonly used configuration methods. Specific network configurations
depend on the network uplinks and if video or other services are desired.
1. Data and optional Video services are sent to the OLT Untagged. A match multicast
2. Data is untagged, Multicast has a CE-VLAN-ID tag. This is similar to Method 1, except if
3. Data and Video services have an upstream CE-VLAN-ID tag to the OLT. This is

Working Examples Using CLI

The following working examples, when applied correctly, will quickly discover and activate the
ONTs.
In the example below, you can leave preserve-ce-vlan enabled because it is not relative to the
EVC-MAP. In this particular example, no CE-VLAN tag is sent from the subscriber RG in
factory default mode. However, once you start to implement CE-VLAN tags, you are going to
have to disable preserve so you do not get double-tags upstream.
g
NOTE
ADTRAN recommends that you disable preserve-ce-vlan, unless you are certain that it is
required.

s-tag 1971

!
If you want to double-tag, add a C-tag to the EVC-MAP. In most cases, you will disable
preserve-ce-vlan, and, use a unique C-tag per subscriber.
Below is the EVC-MAP and virtual GigE, followed by a couple of assumptions.
evc-map "ADTN1508024D__DEFAULT_VEIP1" 1/1
connect evc "data"
connect uni virtual gigabit-ethernet 1/0/1@1/1/1.gpon
connect gpon upstream channel 1
match untagged

statement in the EVC-Map filters the service.
a you want video, a second RG conf file with the configuration to separate video from
data is sent. An ONT out of the box will send "Data" and management upstream
untagged. Later, if you desire video, you can add the additional configuration.
equivalent to Method 2, but both EVC-Maps will have a match CE-VLAN-ID tag. Since
video is on a different CE-VLAN, no match multicast statement is needed, especially if
the RG is in Bridged mode for video and the Set-Top Box are supposed to get DHCP
from the video head end.
