Physical Installation
After unpacking the ONT, inspect it for damage. If damage is noted, file a claim with the carrier
and then contact ADTRAN. For more information, refer to the warranty.
Installation consists of positioning the ONT on a desktop (wall-mount is optional), and
connecting POTS (PHONE), Ethernet, Fiber, and Power.

NOTE
The 414 RG ONT can be mounted on a wall or desktop. For instructions for wall-mounting,
refer to the
(P/N 61287790F1-22) for instruction

Physical Installation Guidelines

The following are guidelines for this installation.
■ Read all warnings and cautions before installing or servicing the ONT.
■ Do not locate the ONT in direct sunlight or next to any thermal obstructions.

Required tools

Standard technician tools and those listed below are required for installing the ONT:
■ PON power meter with wavelength filtering
■ Fiberscope or videoscope
For fiber optic connections, the following is required:
■ ODC Fiber cleaning tool

NOTE
Unless otherwise noted, Steps 2 through 6 apply to all the ONTs in this guide.
