The UNIGATE CX-CANopen (Mapping) - DeviceNet module serves to adapt a CANopen inter-
face to DeviceNet according to „DeviceNet Specification Release 2.0". In this application it acts

as a gateway and works as DeviceNet „Group 2 Only Slave". It can be operated by any standard-
compliant master.
The module CX-C4Map-DN essentially consists of the following hardware components:
• Electrically isolated interface to DeviceNet
•
CAN-controller SJA 1000
• Microprocessor 89C51RD2
• RAM and EPROM
• Serial interfaces RS232 (Service interfaces)
• Electrically isolated interface to CANopen
•
Debug interfaces (for device configuration)
Conceptual
C4Map stands for CANopen with CANopen (mapping) functionality.
In the further course of this manual, the term "Fieldbus" is frequently used. In
these cases this applies to the DeviceNet interface.
