OPERATION
11. Loosen the nuts of terminal (16) (2 places) and disconnect
the cable from the battery.
Disconnect the ground cable (normally connected to the
negative (-) terminal) first.
If any tool touches the positive terminal of the battery and
the chassis, there is a danger that it will cause a spark.
12. Remove the nuts (18) and (19) (2 places each) of the bat-
tery mounting fixture (17), and remove the rods (20) (2 pla-
ces).
13. Remove the bolts (21) (2 pieces), and remove the bracket
(22).
14. Put down the wooden blocks (23), and take out the battery
(24) while pulling it out.
When taking out the battery, move it toward the rear of the
machine.
15. Replace the battery.
16. After replacing the battery, secure it according to the fol-
lowing procedure.

Restore the battery (24) to the original position, and
install the bracket (22) with bolts (21) (2 pieces).

Tighten the nut (18) of the battery mounting fixture
(17) evenly into the right and left rods (20) by hand.
3)
Tighten the nut (18).
Tightening torque: 1.96 to 2.94 Nm {0.2 to 0.3 kgm}
4)
Tighten the nut (19) by hand until it touches the face of nut (18).
5)
Hold the nut (18) with a wrench, and tighten the nut (19).
Tightening torque: 11.8 to 19.6 Nm {1.2 to 2.0 kgm}

Restore the battery (15) to the original position, and install the bracket (14) with bolts (13) (3 pieces).
7)
Tighten the nut (10) of the battery mounting fixture (9) evenly into the right and left rods by hand.
8)
Tighten the nut (10).
Tightening torque: 1.96 to 2.94 Nm {0.2 to 0.3 kgm}
9)
Tighten the nut (11) by hand until it touches the face of nut (10).
10) Hold the nut (10) with a wrench, and tighten the nut (11).
Tightening torque: 11.8 to 19.6 Nm {1.2 to 2.0 kgm}
17. Insert the terminal hole into the battery and tighten the nut.
When installing the battery, connect the ground cable last.
Tightening torque: 9.8 to 11.8 Nm {1.0 to 1.2 kgm}
18. Install the parts which have been removed in steps 3 to 6.
19. Turn the battery disconnect switch to ON position (I).
20. Close the hydraulic tank inspection cover (1).
