Laptop USB Console (LUC)

The USB Mini-B port can be used as a Laptop USB Console port for laptop
access. This lets you conveniently configure the CN9000/CN9600/CN9900/
CN9950 directly at the local site simply by connecting a laptop to the port.
With the laptop, you can then access and edit the CN9000/CN9600/CN9900/
CN9950 application.
To enable this function, you have to set the USB IO settings of CN9000/
CN9600/CN9900/CN9950 to LUC mode first. Click the drop-down menu in
the CN9000/CN9600/CN9900/CN9950 browser configuration (Configuration
location: Advanced Settings --> Customization --> USB IO Settings --> Mode)
and select Laptop USB Console (LUC) Port.
The laptop application (AP) program for operating the LUC is built into the
CN9000/CN9600/CN9900/CN9950's firmware and does not require a
download. To access the switch, do the following:
1. Connect your laptop to the CN9000/CN9600/CN9900/CN9950's mini
USB port using the USB 2.0 cable (USB Type-A to USB Mini-B) included
in the package (see Hardware Installation, page 20).
2. The CN9000/CN9600/CN9900/CN9950 appears as a virtual drive in the
laptop's file system. Go to the drive and locate the Winclient or Javaclient
AP. Select the preferred client and double-click the icon. The AP's connect
page will appear. An example is shown:
3. Select the "USB Mass Storage Device" and click Connect.
