6 The network Net
6.1 Introduction network Net
The easyNet network, termed the NET in the following document, is based
on the CAN (Controller Area Network) serial bus system. CAN complies with
the ISO 11898 standard.
The NET is designed for up to 8 stations.
Using the NET you can:
Process additional inputs and outputs.
Implement faster and improved control using decentralised programs.
Synchronise date and time
Read and write inputs and outputs.
Send values to other stations.
Receive values from other stations.
Load programs from or to any station.
All easy800 devices apart from EASY802-DC-SWD can be NET stations.
Distribute the tasks over several devices that exchange the data
between each other via NET: easy800 or MFD devices for open-
loop and closed-loop control and MFD devices for display and
HMI tasks.
