The easiest and fastest way to establish an Ethernet connection between the PC and easyE4 is via the "Auto IP" IP setting. This IP setting is the factory setting of the easyE4 and enables fast coupling to the device, even for network newcomers. The IP factory setting of the easyE4 is "Auto IP". "Auto IP" is a method for automatically configuring the IP address of the PC and the easyE4. It is con- figured from the MAC address. The default IP address for "Auto IP" is 192.254.xxx.yyy.

6 Ethernet connection with easyE4 via "DHCP” 6.1 Requirements To configure via DCHP, the easyE4 must be connected to a DHCP server. With DHCP, the easyE4 waits for the address assignment from the DHCP server. The idea is that the addresses are managed cen- trally, thus avoiding collisions caused by duplicate addresses.
