The use of other electrical instruments is prohibited.
It must be ensured that the concentration of gas does
not exceed 20% of explosive level.
Using the leak detection probe, even the smallest quantities of explosive
and combustible gases, and in particular natural gas and liquefied
petroleum gas (LPG), can be detected in the air. Suitable for detecting
leaks in pipelines, containers and instrument in which gas flows.

Connect probe and then switch on testo 300 XL-I. Press
during the initialisation phase (not possible if the CO probe is
connected).
1. Once the analyser is switched on the warm-up phase of the leak
detection probe is started automatically (approx. 30 s).

2. Ready to operate
Green LED lights continuously, the permanent tone cuts out
3. Detecting leaks
• an acoustic signal (ticking) is heard if gas is leaking and it
gets louder if concentration increases.
• once the 1st limit has been exceeded (> 200 ppm) the
yellow LED lights up
• once the 2nd limit has been exceeded (> 1%) the
red LED lights up, permanent tone
The values measured by the leak detection probe are not shown in
the testo 300 XL-I dispay.

Measure for a further max. 10 minutes, then recharge battery or connect
to mains.
Return to initialising phase, power supply to leak detection probe is
switched off.
Flue gas cannot be measured when operating the leak detection
You can measure max. 2 hours with the leak detection probe using a
Once the measurement is complete always remove the
leak detection probe immediately otherwise total discharge of the
battery may occur. Never leave the leak detection probe attached
when recharging the battery.
Service tip
The adjustable trigger limit in the factory is 200 ppm CH4 gas. The first
alarm limit can be finely adjusted within the range 0 to 1000 ppm (adjust
only in fresh air).
