testo 300 can be operated with:
a. Testo rechargeable battery (part of delivery)
b. Standard rechargeable batteries or batteries
c. Testo mains unit 0554.0054
Since the NO measuring cell (if present) is constantly supplied with
voltage from the rechargeable battery inside the analyser the
rechargeable battery must be regularly recharged.
Testo rechargeable battery
- The Testo rechargeable battery is recognised by the analyser and is
optimally recharged. The analyser can remain connected to the mains if the
rechargeable battery is full. Compensation charge follows.
1) Display for battery level during the initialising phase or
2) Query "Operation values" menu
The display for the rechargeable battery may drop to 1/2 or 2/3 after being
switched on or after a brief operating time caused by the characteristics
of the battery or the starting current. However, this does not affect the
life of the rechargeable battery.
Battery lifetime (with fully recharged battery): approx. 4 hours (depending
on use of display light)
Standard rechargeable batteries or batteries
- As an alternative to the Testo rechargeable battery, the standard
rechargeable battery (1.5V IEC KR 15/51) corresponding to type AA or
battery type (1.5V MIGNON Alkaline IEC LR6 •AA• ) can be used.
- Standard rechargeable batteries cannot be recharged in testo 300. An
external recharger must be used.
- No display of the rechargeable battery level in the initialising phase.
Voltage levels can be called up in the "Operation values" menu.
Testo mains unit (0554.0054)
- Ensure that the contact in the testo 300 connection plug is good ( ⊂).
- The rechargeable battery or battery must be in the analyser.
- Mains operation with empty rechargeable batteries possible.
It is normal that the mains unit heats up. If temperatures are too high
(e.g. on account of an error in the analyser) the mains unit is protected
against overheating by a thermal protection switch.
