Differential pressure measurement with Pitot tubes are used to measure
velocity. Highly different Pitot tubes can be used. The correct Pitot tube
factor can be entered in the input menu. Testo Pitot tubes and
Prantl´s Pitot tubes have a factor of 1.0. Velocity measurement can be
carried out during the measurement with the pump on or separately with
the pump switched off.
Pitot tubes should be connected as indicated in the diagram. If
the pressure sampling points are confused with the Pitot tube
(static pressure and dynamic pressure) this will lead to incorrect
results.
Check for tightness prior to every measurement.
The measurement bore hole of the Pitot tube may be blocked by
dust. Check and clean on a regular basis.
Do not measure for more than 5-10 minutes, then switch on
the Delta-p measurement again "set zero point". Otherwise
the readings may be outside the tolerance level on
account of drift in the sensor.
Enter the following in the "Setting" menu
- Absolute pressure / - Duct cross-section / - Pitot tube factor
The menu can be cancelled at any time by pressing the
You then return to the measurement menu or initialising phase without
storing the reading.
