CAUTION
Hold the lamp by its base. Do not touch the quartz window at the end of the
lamp.

Removing hollow cathode lamps

To remove a hollow cathode lamp:

This is controlled from the Instrument Parameters page of the LCD display. Set the
'Active current' field to zero (for more information, see 'Instrument Parameters
page', Page 58).
WARNING
Hot Surface.
The lamp will become very hot during operation and cause severe burns if
touched. Allow time for the lamp to cool.
Always wear protective gloves when handling a hot lamp.

Press and hold the white button located at the underside of the socket (see
Figure 86 on page 76
Slowly release the button as you push the lamp fully into position.
Open the lamp compartment door.
Ensure that the lamp is turned off.
Hold the lamp by its base.
