Maintenance
After installation, Align the burner-see Page 76
WARNING
Fire Hazard, Explosion Hazard.
Leaking gas mixtures may explode or ignite and cause injury and damage.
Do not damage the O-ring when fitting the burner.

Clean the burner

WARNING
Hot Surface, Chemical Hazard.
The burner and flame compartment become extremely hot during instrument
operation. Allow the burner and flame compartment to cool for at least
twenty-five minutes before attempting to remove the burner.
Nitric and hydrochloric acids are very corrosive and can cause severe burns
when they contact the skin. Preparation of acid soak solutions and any
soaking should be done under an extraction fume hood. It is essential that
appropriate protective clothing be worn at all times when handling acids. If
acid contacts the skin, wash off with copious amounts of water and seek
medical attention immediately.
To clean the burner:

Extinguish the flame.
Allow surfaces around the flame compartment to cool.
Remove the flame shield and sample compartment front panel from the
instrument.
To remove the burner, gently twist the burner assembly as you lift it straight up
out of the spray chamber.
Using an Agilent burner cleaning and alignment card, gently scrape off any
excessive carbon build up in the burner slot.
