Lock the Robot and Remove Expansion Modules

Before removing the Base Module, the robot must be parked and locked. All
Expansion Modules below the Base must be removed.
Removing and replacing the Base Module can only be performed by an Oracle Service
representative.
Park and Lock the

Remove all modules below the Base Module.

Remove Base Chassis and Parts for Reuse

Remove functional components for reuse before removing the Base Module chassis.
Remove the following applicable parts from the Base Module:
1.
Remove the screws securing the Base Module to the front of the rack.
2.
Extract the module from the rack.

Replace the Base Module Chassis

Replacing the Base Module is very similar to installing a new Base Module.

Install the Base Module into the Rack

Install the Base Module CRUs and Expansion Modules
Reinstall Magazines and Dress the Cables
Install the Base Module into the Rack
The Base Module mounts into a standard 19-in rack.
Robot.
Remove an Expansion
Module.
Unlock and Remove the Magazines
Remove the Drive Tray
Remove the Drive Slot Cover
Remove the Power Supply
Remove the Power Supply Slot Cover
Remove the Front Control Panel
Remove the Robot Module
WARNING:
The Base Module weighs approximately 12.8 kg (28.3 pounds) without
magazines, tape drives, power supplies, or the robot CRU. Two people
should lift the unit.
