Description:
For optimum performance, all products must be fully calibrated at least once using the full calibrate
command. Product used for calibration must be representative of the product to be run and known to
be free from metal contamination. Best results will be obtained by passing a number of product
samples, in succession. Normally at least eight items will be required if Autocal is set for short.
Product must be passed during the time period of the calibration routine. By using more than one
product sample the detector can make adjustment if necessary for any minor differences which may
occur across the product samples used. A single product repeatedly passed can be used, however the
resulting calibration may not be as good, and may require a calibration update when product line is
run.
Once this command has been initiated the full calibration cycle takes place, commencing with the
instruction "Pass Product". During this cycle the optimum head power, working mode, compensation
and threshold values for the product used are automatically calculated. see the Principles of Operation
section for more information about these settings.
If the calibration cycle is started from the Product Setup menu, by invoking the Full Calibrate
command in that menu, then the product number calibrated will be the one specified in that menu.
Otherwise, it will calibrate the current running product.
Press the [ENTER] key to initiate a full calibration cycle for the currently selected product number.

CALIBRATE
This only applies to product F, and indicates that either the ferrite wand
is not being passed through the machine, or that there is not enough
ferrite within the wand (check that it is the wand that was supplied with
the machine).
This indicates that the head power cannot be reduced any further to stop
the head overloading. Possible reasons for this could be that: the
calibration pack has a large metal contaminant in it, causing the head to
overload; a product not specified for operation of the machine is being
used, such that it is too conductive for the machine configuration; the
product packaging is highly conductive. If in doubt, call your nearest
LOMA Service Centre.
