NOTICE
Damage to motor in the event of an incorrectly connected KTY temperature sensor
If a KTY temperature sensor is connected with incorrect polarity, then it is not possible to
detect when the motor overheats. Overheating can cause damage to the motor.
• Connect the KTY temperature sensor with the correct polarity.
Note
The temperature sensor input is not needed if the motors feature an integrated DRIVE-CLiQ
interface or if temperature values are detected by means of a different module (SMC, SME).
Electric shock in the event of voltage flashovers at the temperature sensor
Voltage flashovers to the signal electronics can occur in motors without safe electrical
separation of the temperature sensors.
• Use temperature sensors that comply with the specifications relating to safe electrical
