OADM ring network
At the local, the iTN2100-4SU-D multiplexes optical signals of 4 wavelength channels (1511
nm, 1531 nm, 1551 nm, and 1571 nm) and provides routing protection by establishing an
OADM ring network. Access points A–D can perform bidirectional add/drop multiplexing on
1-way optical signals. In this mode, the iTN2100-4SU-D provides a point-to-point
communication router between any 2 access points. In addition, it facilitates upgrade and
expansion.
Figure 20-4 shows an OADM ring network with the iTN2100-4SU-D.
