Cover strips
MAC/BAC cover strips
Cover strips must be positioned over the entire length of the guide rail cleanly and
gap-free with a slight upward curve on the guide rail surface. The ends must be secured
with a bracket or end pieces. Multi-part cover strips must not show any signs of a
gap at the butt joint.
Checking MAC/BAC cover strips
Replace cover strips in the following cases:
Cover strips are bent or scratched
Cover strips have shifted longitudinally
The cover strip has a raised end
Cover strips are twisted
Replacing MAC/BAC cover strips
For cover strip replacement see „7.2.4 MAC/BAC cover strips" on page 42.
FBM/FBB bellows
Bellows are fastened to the carriage with the adapter plate and to the guide rail end
with the end plate using plastic rivets.
Checking bellows
Check bellows for damage such as tears or holes. Check that the bellows slide
cleanly over the guide rails. In case of damage, the bellows must be replaced and
the MONORAIL guideway also checked for damage or dirt and, where applicable,
cleaned.
Replacing the bellows
1.
Disengage the bellows from the fastening plates, using e.g. a flat screwdriver.
2.
Loosen the fastening screws on the end plate.
3.
Pull the bellows over the guide rail end.
4.
Clean the guide rail.
5.
Check the guide rail, plugs, and cover strip for damage.
6.
Mount the new, pre-assembled bellows (with rivets) onto the guide rail.
7.
Snap the rivets at the end of the bellows into the corresponding holes in the
adapter plate.
8.
Screw on the end plate.
9.
Snap the rivets at the end of the bellows into the corresponding holes in the
adapter plate.
10. Check the bellows for correct positioning and freedom of movement.
